Joe Biden or Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. is a Politician who belongs to America. He is the current President (46th) of U.S.A. He is a member of the Democratic Party and worked as the 47th Vice President (2009-2017) under Barack Obama. He represented Delaware in the United States Senate (1973-2009).
Born on November 20, 1942, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. After some time, Joe Biden moved to Delaware with his family in 1953. Before getting his law degree from Syracuse University he studied at the University of Delaware. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1972 & to the New Castle County Council in 1970.
When he was working as a senator, he drafted and made efforts to pass the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act and the Violence Against Women Act. Barack Obama chose Biden as his running mate in 2008. Biden was a great and close counselor to Obama during his working period as a Vice President.
In the 2020 presidential election, Joseph Robinette Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris defeated incumbent Donald Trump. Biden is the oldest President in U.S. history who joined office at the age of 78 the first to have a female Vice President and the first from Delaware. Biden signed a bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, Build Back Better Act, Inflation Reduction Act, & also CHIPS and Science Act.
Biden restored America’s membership in the Paris Agreement, in foreign policy. Joe Biden has responded to the Russian invasion of Ukraine by imposing sanctions on Russia and authorizing civilian and military aid to Ukraine. In April 2023, he announced his candidacy for the Democratic Party nomination in the (2004) Presidential Election.

At the age of 24, he got married to Neilia Hunter who was a student at Syracuse University on August 27, 1966. The wedding was held in a Catholic Church in Skaneateles, New York. They had 3 children and their names were: Joseph R. “Beau” Biden III, Robert Hunter Biden, and Naomi Christina “Amy” Biden”.
A few weeks after Biden was elected senator on December 18, 1972, his wife Neilia and his one-year-old daughter Naomi were killed in an automobile accident while Christmas shopping in Hockessin, Delaware. Neilia was hit by a semi-trailer truck as she pulled out from an intersection. Their sons Beau and Hunter also got injured in this accident and were taken to the hospital, Beau with a broken leg and other wounds. Hunter with a minor skull fracture and other head injuries. Biden considered resigning to care for his sons but, Senate Majority Leader Mike Mansfield persuaded him not to do so.
Because of this incident, Biden was filled with anger and religious doubt. Police didn’t file any charges against the truck driver, determining that it was Neilia who didn’t see the oncoming truck. The case had been closed with an apology from the daughter of that truck driver.
After some time, Joe Biden met Jill Tracy Jacobs in 1975 on a blind date. She was a teacher. Joe Biden got married to Jill Tracy Jacobs at the United Nations Chapel in New York on June 17, 1977. They were blessed with a daughter Ashely Biden, a social worker. His son Beau Biden became an Army Judge Advocate in Iraq and later Delaware Attorney General before dying from brain cancer in 2015. Hunter Biden worked as a Washington lobbyist and investment adviser his business dealings and personal life came under significant scrutiny during his father Joe Biden’s presidency.

With the help of Obama’s instructions, Biden was officially nominated for vice president on August 27 by vice vote at the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver. In starting Biden’s vice presidential campaigning gained little media attention. On 4th November 2008, Biden and Obama were elected with 53% of the popular vote and 365 electoral votes to McCain- Palin’s 173.
on January 20, 2009, he was appointed as the 47th vice president of the U.S.A. He was the first vice president from Delaware and the first Roman Catholic vice president. As vice president, Biden continued his leadership on important issues which which were faced by the nation. Biden also helped Obama to pass and then oversaw the implementation of the Recovery Act – the biggest economic recovery plan in the history of America.
He worked on many acts with Obama that were important for his Nation and the public. At the White House, President Barack Obama awarded Joe Biden the Presidential Medal of Freedom with distinction – The Nation’s Highest Civilian Honor.

On 8th April 2020, Biden became the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee for president. On August 11, Biden announced Kamala Harris of California as his running mate. In November 2020 Biden was elected the 46th President of America. He defeated Donald Trump. Trump refused to concede, insisting the election had been stolen from him through voter fraud and complaints in court about the voting and vote-counting processes.
Because of it, Joe Biden’s transition was delayed by several weeks as the White House ordered federal agencies not to cooperate. On 23rd November, General Services Administrator Emily W. Murphy formally recognized Biden as the apparent winner of the 2020 election of the president and authorized the start of a transition process to the Biden administration.
Biden was inaugurated as the 46th president of the United States on January 20, 2021, at the age of 78. He was the 2nd Catholic president after John F. Kennedy. He is also the first president of the Silent Generation. Biden’s inauguration was a muted affair, unlike any previous inauguration due to COVID-19 precautions as well as the high security because of the January 6 United States Capitol Attack.
